The Spirit behind BHARAT MASALA was Mr. Jagjivandas Bhavsar, the pioneer in Masala Business. He was a freedom Fighter and for that he was frequently inprisoned for a long period. He had the priviledge to be in contact with Mahatma Gandhi.

With very limited capital he started the Masala Business on 26th January 1953. It was just like a home product in the beginning. He was an expert in Mixing and Blending spices of different varieties. As honesty and Hard-work was his motto, he never compromised with quality. Hence, he maintained the original flavour and aroma of the Indian spices and within a short period of time, he captured the Local Market by Retail.

Himanshu Bhavsar inherited the family business from his father, Bharatbhai Bhavsar, in 1993. Throughout his journey, he has aimed to maintain the same traditional taste of the spices that has been in the family for the last 72 years. As the managing director, he overlooks all the operations, from treading raw materials to the manufacturing of spices. Himanshu with his commitment and dedication, personally. Himanshu himself keeps a check on the smooth functioning of the business with all his commitment and dedication.

Bhavini joined Bharat masala in 1999 and helped the brand reach a whole new level. Bhavini heads the retail sales, digital marketing and customer relationships department ‘as well’. In this world of digitalization, she has also planted the roots of marketing our topmost quality of spices through SEO, digital marketing etc. Bhavini leads Bharat masala with a vision to extend the store branches globally.

Jagjivandas expired in 1968. Soon his Son Bharat Kumar look the whole responsibility of business on his shoulder. He was to young, but his mother Narmadaben helped him a lot to build up their business. For further expanding the trade he acquired a plot to set up his production unit with the state-of-art technology for cleaning, blending-roasling the spices right under his own supervision. He knows the Surati peoples taste for food. Not only that, he has the sound knowledge of Indian curisine and culinary tradition.

He opened a new outlet in 1996 near chouta Brdige, the heart of Surat City. Now BHARAT MASALA is a bigger word and household name in Surat. In fact its a brand name in the region. It’s a very long Journey even though BHARAT MASALA still maintains the name quality and standard to satisfy customers taste.

Now BHARAT MASALA crossed the national boundary and reached overseas countries like U.A.E. and faraway U.S.A, CANADA, and the U.K.
