Ravaiya Masala


Ravaiya is a traditional gujarati dish. Bharat ravaiya masala is a mixture of crushed peanuts, chillies and traditional spices. Ravaiya is one elaborate way of preparing vegetables. In gujarat any stuffed or bharwa sabji is called ravaiya.

Ingredients: Coconut Powder, Bengal Gram Split, Coriander, Sugar, Red Chillis, Cumin, Cinnamon, Cloves, Black Pepper, Sesame Seeds, Salt, Groundnut.


  • 1. Wash, clean and dry the 250 gram egg plants (brinjal). Slit each brinjal length wise still the stalk ensuring, not to cut in halves.
  • 2. In a bowl take 8-10 table spoon of bharat ravaiya masala. 2 tbs of chopped green garlic, 2 tbs coriander and 1 tbs oil. Mix all together and fill the mixture in slit brinjal gently.
  • 3. Take a pressure cooker add 5 tbs oil, asafoetida, add brinjals gently. Now add long sliced 1 potato in it.
  • 4. Close the lid and let it cook till it whistles.
  • 5. Garnish with chopped coriander, serve with Roti/Paratha.
