Usal Misal Masala


Usal misal pav is a popular spicy mouth-watering dish from mumbai. Consisting of sprouted beans with various crunchy toppings and is served with buttered pav. Bharat misal masala is a blend of dry coconut, red chillies, garlic, sesame and some traditional spices, roasted on low flame. The best part about misal is that it suits breakfast, dinner or any other time to have. The bold flavours of this peppery dish are accentuated with a dash of lemon, packing in an explosion of flavours in every bite.

Ingredients: Corriander, Black Pepper, Cumin, Clove, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Dry Ginger, Red Chillies, Mace, Stone Flower, Bay Leaves, Caraway, Black Cardamom, turmeric, Aniseed, Mace.


  • 1. Boil 250 gm sprouted moth beans.
  • 2. Roast 2 slice onions and half bowl dry coconut till golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste. Grind it in fine paste.
  • 3. Heat 50 ml oil in a vessel . Add cumin seed, 2 chopped onions and tomatoes. Add above paste and cook till oil separates.
  • 4. Add 2 tbs bharat usal misal masala. Cook it for 1 minute.
  • 5. Add boiled sprouted moth in above mix. Add required water. Cook for 15 minutes on low flame. Garnish with coriander leaves,chopped onions and farsan.
  • 6. Serve hot with pav.
